Now this doesn’t show the 40+ hours which have been spent on other updates (Stone Tower and also the Desert field quests and dungeons remain 75% completed) along with other work that people did, but this is all the work that has been done that’s dedicated to v.01.4. I’ll try to finish the previous few things asap but it really should not be much longer at all. The nice thing about listing this stuff is that I’ve got a set list to stay with so I don’t just randomly decide to add something else before releasing a new update.
General Map Information:
For those of you who are downloading this map the very first time, please read this, when i haven’t integrated this explanation in to the pause menu yet.
“The hotbar shows slots you can use through the player. The Green slot (number 1 on the keyboard) is definitely your present sword, so that as you upgrade swords the newer you will replace the older one. The blue slot will be your shield. The next 4 slots (similar to c-buttons on an N64 Joypad) are that you should equip items with. The last 3 slots are for small keys, boss keys, as well as for your Ocarina. This way, you could access the Ocarina (and through that, the pause menu), you can always see how many keys you have, and you will also have fast access to your main weapon/defense. Overall I believe that it looks better generally, but only having 4 equippable slots I felt was the best number.
The custom inventory is a mixture of images and actual items. Observe that it’s not final, but all 6 of the slots about the far right (those with no blue bars behind them) have slots where you can observe how many arrows/bombs you’ve, and upgrade things you have (like the power glove, which I’m attempting to make it that so its upgrading, rather than an equippable item).
HD textures aren’t FULLY supported in AdventureCraft. You will find small graphical inconsistencies, but I’m hoping for Cryect to include the HD support. Risu (from what I’ve heard) thinks that it’s possible to supply HD texture/sprite scaling for Minecraft (and by extension, AdventureCraft) without needing to make use of an HD patcher. So, I’m keeping the present textures in position until that happens. I’ll be adding a 16x version too, with many different textures being downscaled and modified.”
Install Instructions:
If you do not understand how to install an AdventureCraft map, open the spoiler!
1. Make sure that you have an unmodified version of Minecraft. Perform a fresh Minecraft install for version 1.6.6 if you’re unsure.
2. Download AdventureCraft. You are able to decide to download a duplicate with maps. I would suggest doing this one, because it is easier to see what you are doing by using it.
3. Extract the AdventureCraft folder either to your Desktop or perhaps a directory of your liking.
4. Open the AdventureCraft folder, and double click “Adventurecraft.exe”.
5. It may take a minute for AdventureCraft to start the very first time. Once the window pops up, click on the “Install” box very first. Once installation is complete (a dialog box should appear) click on the “Update to r799″ box (the version number may change, but update once you install).
6. Once AdventureCraft has been installed, a maps folder will have been created. Copy the folder labeled “The Legend of Zelda The cisco kid Gate v.01.3″ into your maps folder.
7. Start AdventureCraft, then click Singleplayer, then click Create ” new world “, then my map should appear. Select my map, then click “done”. You will then start the map
To ensure that the correct folder is positioned into your “Maps” folder for AdventureCraft, open the folder that you think provides the map and be sure the “gui” folder, “terrain.png” along with other similar files/folders have been in it. The folder which has these may be the folder that should be copied and pasted into your maps folder.
Features integrated into the map:
-Various Sidequests with rewards to consider a rest from adventuring
-Items from various Zelda games are in here. Anything in the Boomerang to Dual Hookshots and my way through between!
-Soundtrack by ZREO, featuring music from various Zelda games
-A storyline that is consistent with the lore in the games. The game’s story starts 15 years after Majora’s Mask. To read up on the backstory, go to the end of this post.
-A massive new kingdom to understand more about! The play area is 1024×1024, which is one of the largest play areas in any AC map to date.
-Open world! Tired of small corriders and tight dungeon spaces? Do you dislike the sensation to be restrained into such a small playable space? Well, the map is made to be as open as possible. Consider Twilight Princess. Have you walk-through small corridors the whole time?
-Secret areas that reward players for exploring (uncovering a bit of Heart, some Rupees, new items, stronger weapons, new armor, etc.)
-Warp Songs! Since the world is so huge, you aren’t going to want to travel through it by foot constantly. Thankfully, your mother left you her Ocarina, and once you learn to play the it you’ll be able to warp to certain key locations.
-An interactive “pause menu” that updates through scripting (think Fable 3). This really is accessed through your Ocarina. This tracks main quest and side quest progression.
-9 Large Dungeons, each with it’s own theme
-Minidungeons and field quests
-Tons of super cool scripted items and exclusive features
-Dungeon and Overworld Minimaps
-Huge Castle Town
-PIMS (Proper Inventory Management System) forces slots and allows you to equip items!
-IDS (Intelligent Dialogue System) allows for simple dialogue trees, clicking to cycle through conversations. This enables players to respond to the planet, trigger events through speech, and allows players to see at their own pace.
-MOSD (Magic On-Screen Display) shows a magic meter in your screen all the time.
-TGO (Total GUI Overhaul) includes various display and GUI tweaks, including a custom inventory screen, PIMS, MOSD, along with other tweaks.
